Crispy Brussels Sprouts w/ Sweet Chili Dressing

October 10, 2014 By ericaeckman

Crispy Brussels sproutsNothing tastes better than crispy brussels sprouts! When done properly, this vegetable takes on a yummy and nutty flavor that is totally crave-able.  On top of their delicious taste, brussels sprouts are packed with vitamin C and can even help lower your cholesterol.

Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of crispy brussels sprout salads on menu’s across the country. The sad part, most of them are fried, which essentially strips away any of those nutritional benefits I just mentioned.

That’s why I’ve come up with a yummy recipe that is every bit as good as the fried versions you’ll get at the restaurants, but without all that extra fat, oil and grease! I top these crispy brussels sprouts with a little sweet chilli dressing that give it just enough flavor to take them over the top!

Crispy Brussels Sprouts w/ Sweet Chili Dressing

This yummy recipe is every bit as good as the fried versions you’ll get at the restaurants, but without all that extra fat, oil and grease!

Course: Appetizer
Cuisine: American
Keyword: Brussels Sprouts, Crispy, Healthy, Healthy Meals, Sweet Chili
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Brussels Sprouts
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 2 tbsp Sweet Chilli Sauce
  • Sriracha up to 1/2 tablespoon; start with a few drops and work up so it’s not too spicy
  • 1 tsp Soy Sauce
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees and line your baking sheet with tin foil. Start prepping your brussels sprouts by washing them. Once clean, cut off the bottom stem and discard. Peel off the outer leaves and then quarter them. Sometimes I even chop a few of them into 6 pieces so they are smaller and get extra crispy!
  • Place your cut up sprouts on your baking sheet and top with olive oil, garlic salt, onion powder, salt and pepper. Bake in the oven for about 30-40 minutes until crispy.
  • While your crispy brussels sprouts are in the oven, whisk together the sweet chili sauce, Sriracha and soy sauce.
  • When your crispy brussels sprouts come out of the oven, quickly transfer them to a bowl and top with the sweet chili sauce.

Even if you think you don’t like brussels sprouts, these are a must make. Come to think of it…I might just have to make these over the weekend!

Love always,
Erica
