Last week I got this insane craving for pizza. I didn’t want the thick (and often times super dense) Chicago style pizza, I wanted something more unique. Since I haven’t found that “perfect” slice yet, I decided to take to Google and Yelp to help me find a place.
Then, I stumbled upon the menu at Pronto ‘Za and I was sold.
First of all, the fact that a plain cheese pizza isn’t on their menu until you scroll all the way to the bottom tells me these people are super creative. They had some of the most insane sounding pizza’s I’ve ever heard of and after I found myself reading the menu for 25 minutes, I knew I had to order from there.
When I got on the phone with them and asked for recommendations, they told me which pizza’s were top sellers. Surprisingly, they also talked to me about their sandwiches. They told me that they homemake their bread every day, and I’d be missing out if I didn’t grab a sandwich too.
Since I was ordering for a group of friends, I got to try a few of their menu items and they did not disappoint!
When you order from there or go there (yes, they actually have a small shop at 1234 N Halsted), here are 3 things you don’t want to miss:
1) Nutty Gonzo: This delicious and unique pizza is topped with a sweet & sour onion marmalade, gogonzola cheese and crunchy toastes walnuts. It sounds a little different, but it was honestly one of the best pizza’s I’ve ever had. I would totally steal this recipe if I could figure out how it’s made! Since I couldn’t, I guess Pronto ‘Za will be hearing from me a lot :).
2) Classic BLT: I’m sorry, but there is nothing classic about this sandwich. This unique and elevated BLT literally blew my mind. I’m not sure if it was the homemade wheat bread or the tangy lemon aioli, but whatever it was, I want more!
3) Monkey Mango: If you like a sweeter pizza, this one will rock your world. It has this awesome special mango sauce, roasted chicken breast (that they actually roast in house), fresh ginger, red onions and delicious chunks of fresh mango. This one comes a little dryer, so ask for extra sauce or dip it in one of their 4 amazing dipping sauces for only .50 more!
How good does this place sound? Next time you’re thinking delivery, give Pronto ‘Za a try and prepare for a deliciously epic meal!
Love always,
Erica
