Lose 10lbs in 3 days – The Military Diet Review

August 18, 2014 By ericaeckman

military-diet-review There are so many fad diets out there that most of the time, when I see them, it’s pure white noise. However, recently, I had a friend tell me that they tried this new diet called the Military Diet and saw a 10lb weight loss in just 3 days. She told me it was an easy to follow, 3-day food plan that you are on for 3 days and off for 4.

Although it sounded to good to be true, I did some research online and found some interesting evidence.

First, the Military Diet claims that its chemically formulated food combination is designed to burn fat, kick start your metabolism and lose weight fast. Second, I noticed there were a few other people across the internet who had also experienced a 10lb weight loss. Third, you get to eat vanilla ice cream every day of the diet.

I figured, why not give it a try. It’s only 3 days, right?

Here was the menu for the Military Diet:

Day 1:
Breakfast
1/2 Grapefruit
1 Slice of Toast
2 Tablespoons of Peanut Butter
1 cup Coffee or Tea (with caffeine)

Lunch
1/2 Cup of Tuna
1 Slice of Toast
1 cup Coffee or Tea (with caffeine)

Dinner
3 ounces of any type of meat
1 cup of green beans
1/2 banana
1 small apple
1 cup of vanilla ice cream

Day 2:
Breakfast
1 egg
1 slice of toast
1/2 banana

Lunch
1 cup of cottage cheese
1 hard boiled egg
5 saltine crackers

Dinner
2 hot dogs (without bun)
1 cup of broccoli
1/2 cup of carrots
1/2 banana
1/2 cup of vanilla ice cream

Day 3:
Breakfast
5 saltine crackers
1 slice of cheddar cheese
1 small apple

Lunch
1 hard boiled egg (or cooked however you like)
1 slice of toast

Dinner
1 cup of tuna
1/2 banana
1 cup of vanilla ice cream

After completing the Military Diet, I have to say, that I do NOT recommend doing it and here is why:

  • Simply put, you will be “hangry”. I’ve also read else where that people can get headaches from the lack of calories
  • There is no special chemical combination of food that kickstarts your weight loss. You would lose the same amount of weight if not more by doing the same number of calories and cutting out the carbs.
  • The military does not use this diet. I spoke with 3 sources in the military and all of them had never heard of it. One even said the only diet popular within the military community is Paleo.
  • I only lost 3lbs and it was pure water weight since I gained it back 2 days later
  • It’s simply unhealthy. You don’t even have enough energy to exercise

In the end, if you’re looking to drop a quick few lbs of water weight to fit into a dress, then the Military Diet might be a quick solution, but long term, you just have to stick to the hard work.

Sorry guys!

Love always,
Erica

This is strikingly similar to a diet my Mom and I did when I was In high school, but it added cabbage soup. As much soup and as often as you wanted it, I addition to many of these same meals. We called it the cabbage soup diet. I wonder if there is any info out there on it…Google time!

Really? You just gotta question any diet that includes hot dogs?..ewh

It helped in reducung 2-3 kgs in 3 days….Of course if you add walking to it , it would be even better..
The best part is that at the end of this you wont crave for food because ypu would have enjoyed some delicious items like ice cream and hot dogs etc unlike other diest plans..

I tried the diet with my friend just last week. My sister’s wedding is coming up next month and we wanted to look our best and shed around 10 pounds. Since the diet looked promising, we dived right into it. I say, the food combo was great and the selection was easy to find. Very inexpensive. I’m quite busy so it’s great that I can take the food to the office with no fancy preparation.
At the end of the 3 days, I lost 7 pounds while my friend, a mere 5 lbs. I don’t know what made the results vary but I did substitute lean chicken with the hotdog and opted for fresh boiled flounder rather than canned tuna. Anyone here with the same results?
I also did a couple of research to find out more from other bloggers. I hope this resource page helps your readers too http://3daysmilitarydiet.com/effect/how-to-lose-weight-in-3-days.html
