Slimmed Down Summertime Salad Dressings

summer saladsFor me, summer is all about the salads. Not only am I trying to be ‘bikini ready’, but burgers don’t do it for me as much as they did in the winter. I want something light, crunchy and nutritious to get me through all the walking I do around the city! However, in the past, I’ve been the queen of the unhealthy salad. You know the whole “well it has lettuce and no carbs so I’m totally being healthy” idea.

Let me tell you a little secret – sometimes your salad isn’t as waist conscious as you might think.

I know dream crushing, right? The thing is, although super delicious and flavorful, your dressings are one of the items in salads that can carry the most caloric value. And if you’re like me, you like those creamy dressings (which don’t help the cause). So, in order to feel satisfied while eating salads (because let’s face it, I’m not compromising on flavor), I’ve come up with 4 Fabulously Fit Dressings for Summer.

Slimmed Down Summertime Salad Dressings

Try these 4 Fabulously Fit Dressings for your salads!

Ingredients

Chipotle Ranch Dressing

  • 1/2 cup Greek Yogurt
  • ¼ cup Olive Oil
  • 3 tbsp Buttermilk
  • 1-2 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 2 tbsp Garlic Salt, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Dill, Parsley
  • 1 tsp Salt & Pepper

Creamy Feta Vinaigrette (also a great veggie dip!)

  • 4 oz Feta Cheese finely crumbled
  • 3 Garlic Cloves crushed and minced
  • 1 Lemon Juiced give or take how zesty you want your dressing
  • 1 tsp Oregano, Thyme, Dill, Salt, Pepper
  • 1/3 cup Olive Oil
  • ¼ Red Wine Vinegar leave out for the dip
  • 2 tbsp Buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup Non-Fat Greek Yogurt
  • 1-3 tbsp Water depending on how you want to thin out your dressing

Sweet Poppyseed

  • 1/3 cup Light Mayonnaise or Non-Fat Greek Yogurt
  • ¼ cup Light, Unsweetened Coconut Milk
  • 3 tbs Agave
  • 4 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Poppyseeds

Honey Mustard

  • ½ tsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 ½ tbsp Honey
  • 1 tbsp Agave
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 tbsp Whole Grain Mustard
  • ¼ tsp Pepper
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • ½ cup Non-Fat Greek Yogurt

So… who is having salad this weekend?! A little tip: the whole “less is more” concept will really keep these dressings feeling summer-esq. Enjoy!
