I’ve got a bun in the oven (and I’m not even cooking)!

Hey guys! I know it’s been a while, but I’ve been cooking up something pretty cool these past three months. Surprise! I’m pregnant :).

Truth be told, this has literally been one of the most difficult times of my entire life. As I sit here now, a little over 12 weeks pregnant, I’m finally able to reflect back over the last few months with a smile…

Rewind back to week 6. I could barely get out of bed. I kept reading that it was going to get better. They told me soon enough I’d feel better than I’ve ever felt and I’ll get that pregnancy glow we’ve all dreamed about. At that moment, all seemed lost. I was crying every hour, experiencing breakouts like a teenager, had absolutely no appetite and dealt with the most debilitating nausea I’ve ever had.

Welcome to the first trimester of pregnancy.

The nausea lasted really bad from week 6-11. Not only was I losing weight at rapid speed (I think I lost about 7lbs in just a few days), but I was losing out on jobs (being a food blogger) and my friends and social media followers were starting to think I was a flake. It was such a terrible feeling. All I wanted to do was just tell everyone what was going on, but I couldn’t because the doctors recommend you wait until 3 months to share the news. I felt like I was trapped inside my own body with the biggest news of my life and I couldn’t really talk about it with anyone. It was horrible.

Flash forward to today when I heard that little heart beat for the first time and saw my little nugget on the ultrasound dancing away inside of me. I’m talking arms flailing, legs moving kind of dancing. It was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen and suddenly all the back pain, stomach churning nausea and sleepless nights became worth it.

Moving forward, I’m so excited to be able to share this journey with you. Over the last few months, I’ve thought a lot about how I wanted to move forward with my brand. When I started Everything Erica a few years ago, the intent was to always share everything about my life. Well, this is a huge part of my life and I intend to share everything I can with you.

Thank you for being patient with me over the last few months as I’ve seemed to fall off the radar slightly. I hope now it all makes sense. July 23 can not come soon enough!

Love always,
Erica

My first trimester went the exact same way, fatigue, pizza face on fleek & nausea. Zero pregnancy glow. However about 16 weeks in things started to change (for the better) and I was able to finally relax and enjoy the whole process ! Congrats :):):)

    Hi Erica,

Congratulations! Oh, how I understand all you have gone through the last months. I am now 9 weeks pregnant and my blog suffers! I have a baking & desserts blog and going in the kitchen is a struggle. I feel so dizzy. Plus, I, the person who was able to live on eating chocolate alone, can’t even have a small bite. I had a deadline today and I baked rolling around the kitchen with an office chair. Could not even stand up. I’ve heard things get better. Glad everything is good for you now and you are able to enjoy your pregnancy. Wishing you the best!!!
