Fast Food Makeover: Taco Bell’s Crunch Wrap Supreme

April 28, 2014 By ericaeckman

crunch wrap no

I would be lying if i didn’t say I craved fast food every once in a while. I mean, who doesn’t?

Despite this craving, the amount of sugar and fat that they pump into the food is enough to send my culinary skills into overdrive and I have become determined to recreate my favorite fast food dishes at home. My latest creation? Taco Bell’s Crunch Wrap Supreme!

It all started on Facebook the other day when one of my sorority sisters (who has been trying to lose weight) put up a status that she really wanted to break her diet and order the Crunch Wrap. Despite the fact that I think she looks perfect and doesn’t need to lose weight, the thought of anyone putting this calorie filled, grease bomb in their body freaked me out and I knew I needed to come up with a swap ASAP to save her from her hankering.

All that said, I think I’ve done it! My version has about 1/4 of the calories, sugar AND fat! Not to mention I’m using all natural, healthy ingredients and not that over processed crap you’re going to get at the drive-through.

Course: Lunch
Cuisine: American, Mexican
Keyword: best crunch wrap substitute, Healthy, Healthy Meals, Taco Bell, taco bell crunch wrap supreme
Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • 1 Grain Tortilla sprouted
  • 1 Hard Corn Taco Shell
  • 1/2 cup Beyond Meat Feisty Crumbles if you can’t find this, use ground turkey
  • 1 oz Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • Lettuce chopped
  • Tomato diced up
  • 1.5 tbsp Greek Yogurt mixed with garlic powder, pepper & chili powder to taste

Instructions

  • Cook up the beyond meat (or ground turkey) in a little bit of olive oil or cooking spray until cooked through. If you are using turkey, make sure to season it up with garlic powder, chili powder, salt and pepper.
  • Crush up the hard corn taco shell inside the sprouted grain wrap and add the rest of the ingredients, roll up and enjoy!

This substitute will hit all the same notes as a Crunch Wrap, but you won’t feel that cloud of guilt over your head when you eat it! Remember, the next time you’re craving that fast food dinner, remind yourself that you can make anything at home!

Love always,
Erica
