Halloween Candy Bark

October 13, 2017 By Erica Eckman

IMG_0763I can’t believe it, but Halloween is literally right around the corner! Time is seriously flying. This holiday has taken on a whole new meaning for me now that I have Elia. What costume will she wear? Will she say Trick or Treat in time (we keep practicing!) and what kind of candy will she like?! I’m just so excited to take her Trick or Treating for the first time and see her face light up every time someone opens the door to give her candy. She’s going to freak out.

I also just bought my first home, so this is the first year I’ll finally have trick or treaters knocking at my door! I decided to add some candy to my Peapod order this month to make things simple. They have such a huge selection and the prices are awesome!

Since I don’t want to be the lame house that runs out of candy, I am pretty much guaranteed to have some leftover. Couple that with the amount of candy Elia is bound to acquire, and I need to figure out an exit strategy for these sweets. Admittedly I have a bit of a sweet tooth and there is nothing worse for my diet than having leftover Halloween candy. So I decided to create this Halloween Candy Bark to use up whatever we have left.

Check out the video recipe I created!

How delicious does that look? In addition to candy, Peapod also sells a HUGE arrange of other Halloween inspired items like:

  • Trick-or-treat pumpkin pails
  • Candy Apples
  • Halloween plates, napkins, cups for parties
  • Non-candy options for trick-or-treaters like Halloween bracelets, stickers, etc
  • Actual pumpkins! Because who really wants to carry heavy ones home?!
  • Fall beer for us adults while we wait for trick-or-treaters

Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American
Keyword: Bark, Candy, Chocolate, Halloween
Servings: 9

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Chocolate
  • Left Over Halloween Candy

Instructions

  • Melt 1.5 cups of chocolate chips over a double boiler.
  • Stir the chocolate around to make sure there aren't any clumps. Turn off heat once the chocolate has been completely melted.
  • Next, layout the parchment paper. Pour the chocolate and spread 1/4 inch thick.
  • Add your leftover Halloween candy on top of it. I picked M&M's, Candy Corn, Kit Kat, and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.
  • Refrigerate for 45 minutes.
  • Cut into different size pieces and enjoy!

Love always,
Erica
